It is with great sadness we share the passing of industry colleague and friend, Greg Tiller.

A familiar and friendly face at NHIA events for many years, most recently at the AGM and member forum in Shepparton earlier this month, Greg gave lifelong service to the dairy cattle breeding industry and was highly respected by all that knew and worked with him.

Originally from South Australia, Greg grew up with dairying in his veins. He quickly appreciated that cattle breeding was his passion and in August 2003 joined Genetics Australia as a Field Sales representative and relocated to Rochester in Northern Victoria.

Greg loved talking genetics and gained a good understanding of not only what type of cow was needed in Australia but how local and international genetics would work best. He gained the respect of both commercial, stud breeders and competitors, not only in his local region, but Australia wide.

His passion for Australian genetics was unrivalled, as was the regard he was held in by countless people throughout the dairy industry.

As many NHIA members will attest to, in addition to his industry knowledge and expertise, it was his personality and humour that drew people to him, along with his honesty and loyalty.

A larger than life character with a natural and easy charm, it was impossible to spend more than a few minutes in Greg’s company without big smiles and much laughter all round.

Greg passed away on 20th August 2023. His funeral will be held midday Tuesday 5th September at Rochester Cemetery, Corop Road, Rochester, Victoria 3561. All are welcome. Greg's funeral will streamed online. You can view the livestream at this link.

Our thoughts are with Greg’s beloved daughter Payton, his family, and with his many friends and colleagues at Genetics Australia and throughout the dairy industry nationally and overseas.
