At the Ruminant Genetics Trade Advisory Group  (RGTAG) our mission is clear: to champion the ongoing success of Australian genetics on the world stage. Supported by the services of NHIA, RGTAG plays a crucial role in the following areas:

- Representing the industry in setting import and export protocols

- Advising the government on issues related to genetics trade

- Serving as a conduit between the industry and the Department of Agriculture

- Keeping the industry informed about current trade and protocol issues and events

- Promoting the Australian ruminant genetic industry internationally

In 2024, we transitioned the Chairperson role, expressing our gratitude to Dom Bayard of Global Reproduction Solutions for his many years of exceptional service. The leadership of Chair has now been handed over to Penny Welch of Genetics Australia.

RGTAG serves as a unified voice to address import and export issues for all ruminant species, working directly with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry. The committee tirelessly advances protocol development, navigating the complexities of government hierarchy and various departments to push trade development.

Committed to lobbying and industry connections, RGTAG ensures a cohesive "Team Australia" approach, strengthening our message in collaboration with the government.
