Victoria Alexander, a Director at NuGenes, recently found herself stepping into new territory by completing the prestigious Marcus Oldham Leadership Program, sponsored by the Gardiner Foundation.
Approaching the program with a sense of nervousness—having no connections to participants, and uncertain of what to expect—Victoria was pleasantly surprised by the transformative experience that followed.
The intensive weeklong course challenged her to better understand herself, ultimately helping her to appreciate and value her own strengths. As a result, Victoria emerged with renewed confidence and a clearer sense of her core values, both personally and professionally.
Victoria describes the program as emotionally impactful, teaching her the importance of setting boundaries between work and personal life. She also learned the value of stepping back to let others find their own solutions, rather than immediately stepping in to help.
Since completing the course, Victoria has enthusiasm to enhance the induction process for newcomers and streamlining operations. Her leadership focus is now setting clear goals and motivating her team to achieve them with a sense of joy and passion. “Sometimes, people perceive tasks as difficult, but in reality, it’s just something new,” Victoria says. “My vision is to make tasks more enjoyable for everyone.”
